WE LEAVE A LIGHT ON
The lights in our windows are ALWAYS ON to signify to EVERYONE they are welcome at our church.
OUR MISSION

PROCLAIM CHRIST
Our goal since 1838 has been to serve the spiritual needs of our community. We were here then, and we’re here today. For different times and for different problems, Old Stone Church offers the same enduring faith.
DEVELOP FAITH
Old Stone Church offers special opportunities to members and visitors to deepen their faith through studies of biblical and contemporary issues, all while maintaining a relaxed and casual environment.
INSPIRE SERVICE
We encourage our members to serve Christ in their daily lives and we encourage our pastor, Dan Herman, to be active in the life of our community by sharing the healing ministries of our congregation.

GRIEF GROUP MEETINGS
Many of us have lost loved ones, and at times we find ourselves needing the comfort and support of people who understand what we are going through. The grief group at the Old Stone Church aims to provide that comfort and support for all those who face the loss of a loved one.

FOOD PANTRY
The Pantry marked 25 years of service in 2019. It serves the Stateline area of Rockton, Roscoe, South Beloit, Shirland, and Harrison only since other communities have pantries available. Individuals must present an up-do-date Illinois driver’s license and a current bill or piece of mail that confirms their address in our service area. Generous support for the Pantry comes from area churches, civic groups, businesses, individuals, and schools. This ministry is based in the love of Jesus for those who are less fortunate or suffering in our midst.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT….
The Old Stone Church is comprised of ordinary, flawed individuals who believe that we can be better people, family members, and members of our community by living a Christ-inspired life. While personal faith is vital, we know that the help of others is needed to grow and meet the varied needs of the world God has given to us.

RELAXED/TRADITIONAL
ATMOSPHERE
When you attend Old Stone Church, you will notice that we have a “COME AS YOU ARE” philosophy. This means that you are welcome to attend in casual attire, such as jeans. You may find yourself immersed in a heartfelt welcome from our congregation, a traditional choice of music featuring familiar hymns, and an impactful sermon message.

YOUR SUNDAY
SERVICE SCHEDULE
Offering a timely service is important to us, as we wish to respect your time on the weekends.
During the hour long service, you will enjoy hymns, scripture readings, prayers, a short children's service, and more.
After service, you are invited to join us for coffee and fellowship.

CHILDCARE AND
SUNDAY SCHOOL
We offer a free nursery during every Sunday service so parents can get refreshed in worship and know their children are nearby and safe.
We also offer Sunday School (Sept - May) to kids K-12 during the same time as our Sunday church service.
They will hear stories of our Christian faith, and our energetic High School Puppet Ministry seeks to interpret the stories of scripture in a manner kids can remember.

COMMUNION
Everyone, member & non-member, is welcome to receive Communion. Just like baptism, we believe communion is a sacrament given by scripture as a means to be united with God and Christ in an intimate manner. We also believe that no one has the right to keep a person from communion with Christ. Non-members are welcome to receive communion without judgement or discrimination. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of every month.

OUR MUSIC
The music of Old Stone Church enhances the worship experience of our members and visitors. Therefore, we have a traditional style of music featuring familiar hymns, our own vocal choir that performs 2x per month, a bell choir that performs 1x per month, as well as opportunities to enjoy performances from other individuals and groups.
Recently, we enjoyed performances from:
Carl Cole
South Beloit High School Choir
Flute Choir
Dan Holmes
By enjoying a variety of music and performances, our congregation can make connections to other local musicians that are adding value within our community.
